Travel Log: Day 122 (10/27), Guam

This morning we made a large grocery run. It actually wasn’t all that much stuff despite a running list of things we’ve been adding to over several days since the last run. It was a good half grocery cart though that filled a few reusable bags, and it cost about $250.

After that we set out to find Halloween costumes. We went to salvation army only to find that it isn’t open on Mondays, despite what it says online. Since we were really close to the premier outlets we went over there. It was like a mini shopping mall with everything indoors. I looked at several places for sandals and finally found a pair at famous footwear. JC and AC found great costumes (Raquel and Barbie) at Ross. BC and I are still trying to figure out what we can be. On the way back, AC dropped JC’s new costume shirt in Tommy Hilfiger when she came to get me. We only realized that once we were back at our condo, so they made a run back and luckily found it.

We tried to watch the Broncos but couldn’t get DAZN to work. Despite everything I read saying Guam counts as international, the app is acting as if we’re in the US and not displaying the NFL games.

Later we took naps, went for a walk on the beach, had rice and bean bowls for dinner, and then watched some stuff on Prime live TV which I had no idea was a thing. There are so many channels on there with all sorts of things to watch.

Travel Log: Day 123 (10/28), Guam

I was really tired all day today. I took a nap pretty early in the day, and then could have taken another one in the afternoon. We are on a Tuesday/Thursday school schedule for the next couple of weeks, so this was a school day. Later in the afternoon we went to salvation army to look for costumes. BC is going as Ken to match the girls (Barbie and Raquel). I didn’t find anything I wanted to be.

In the evening JC and I went on a date night. We walked to ABC to get a drink to have at the beach. Then we stopped in at a beach bar there and had a few drinks. The bartender was an air force wife and we talked to her a lot, as well as a couple of the other bartenders. They were full of interesting info. We got a bit of a low down on the Philippines as well as one guy was Philippino. We stopped at ABC on the way back to eat some chocolate. Mom and the kids went to Burger King for dinner.

Travel Log: Day 124 (10/29), Guam

Today we went to the Fish Eye Marine Park, which is an underwater observatory about a quarter mile out into the ocean in the village of Piti. We saw a variety of fish and coral out the windows. The fish were sometimes in large groups around the feeding canisters. It cost us $70 to get in with 3 adults and AC/BC. I’m not sure it was worth it. It felt like it should cost more like $30 for all of us, but I’m probably just having a Japan hangover.

We tried to go to the War In the Pacific National Historic Park because it was only a short drive from the observatory. When we started up the trail though it was too muddy, steep, and slippery so we turned back. The mall was the next thing on our agenda. The main objective was for AC to get BC’s birthday present (a phone case). We got coffee as well, and I went hunting for new t-shirts and tank tops. I found some pretty good ones, and my mom found me a good Hawaiian shirt so I can join the Barbie costume as Ken.

The rest of the afternoon we watched the Nuggets and I tailored my sleeves on one of the shirts. We had dinner, then JC my mom and I went for a walk.
