Traveling Toward Fire

A Premature FI Experiment

Getting A Break From The Rain

Travel Log: Day 6 (7/3), Costa Rica

Morning

We were inside all morning partly due to weather and partly due to a slow start. We didn’t eat breakfast until almost 10, and then lunch rolled around. JC and I did some research on our next location but didn’t decide anything. We also researched excursions.

Afternoon

In the afternoon JC and I made a run to the bigger grocery store. We got a lot of produce and I made it through checking all of it out myself until I got to potatoes and couldn’t find a picture or enter the word potato to find it. The attendant kindly saved me.

I feel like I have the low grade beginnings of a cold but it doesn’t seem to progress. I think my body is just encountering enough foreign stuff that it’s picking fights with things.

Evening

Earlier in the day I had submitted a reservation request for a coffee and chocolate tour. I asked them what age was considered an adult, and they responded via email. Like most places, AC is an adult and BC is a child. When I replied to their email to confirm the reservation it was undeliverable. That seems to be how tech works around here. Luckily the place is less than half a mile away so I walked over there to confirm it. Got to speak a Spanish greeting, and then the tour lady switched to English either because my Spanish sucked or I’m white, maybe both. I’m excited for that tour.

The weather cleared so much that there was blue sky and the volcano was completely visible. There was even a double rainbow. We took pictures and enjoyed the local kids coming outside to take in the nice weather.
