Traveling Toward Fire

A Premature FI Experiment

Tokyo Museum Of Emerging Science

Travel Log: Day 72 (9/7), Tokyo Japan

Today was quiet. Our biggest event of the day was going to McDonals for lunch. I was reluctant to do that because I thought we’d look like a stereotype going in there. It would only be worse in my mind if we were fat-asses. Once we got in there though, it wasn’t like I was picturing. Most of the people eating there were locals, just enjoying some American fast food. The food was good and resembled American McDonald’s very closely.

After that we went a couple blocks over to walk around the Sumo area some more. The gates were open but it looked like they were having some sort of banquet. The people walking in were dressed pretty nice and the wrestlers were in nice robes welcoming everyone in. We went a little farther and walked through the nature pond area again. It was much busier this time.

In the evening we went for a long walk and got food at Lawson. When we came back, we saw three Japanese people (parents and an adult daughter) in front of our condo. I stepped back in the elevator to make sure we were on the right floor. They said they rented 803, and we explained we are renting it until the 23rd. They were very nice, and I told them if we can help at all they should knock and let us know. Hopefully they found their place and didn’t get ripped off by some scam.

Travel Log: Day 73 (9/8), Tokyo Japan

Rather than doing a typical school day today, we decided to go to the museum of emerging science. We did math in the morning because we didn’t want to leave our condo until about 9:15 in order to avoid morning rush hour. We walked to the subway and checked the amounts on our cards to ensure we had the higher amount needed for this long ride. Our first train was still slightly confusing to us but we got that sorted out and made the second connection to get to the museum.

The museum was awesome. It had all sorts of exhibits, and the top floor was dedicated to space stuff. I probably spent upwards of two hours just on that floor. The bottom floor had some robotic dogs, people, and other creatures. It also had a section dedicated to Nobel Laureates which I found interesting. There was another section dedicated to aging which JC and I found depressing.

On the return trip we decided to navigate the transit without google maps. This proved pretty easy since we were just retracing our steps, but I still feel like it was a big step for us in understanding the system.

We had Lawson dinner, and I got the pork curry for the second time in two days. Then we watched the Denver Broncos to round out the night. I did a week long DAZN NFL game pass to see how well that works (pretty good).
