Travel Log: Day 89 (9/24), Osaka Japan
Today is our first full day in Osaka. We are loving our Airbnb even more as we discover more about it. I found the best spot to sit and enjoy silence. It’s in the foyer once again, but this time I have tons of room, nice mood lighting, and a good seat. The setup for school work is also much better, with options to spread out and more charging options easily in reach. The fire stick is working as well which is a big win for movie night.
We ate Lawson for all of our meals today. I have decided I am adding a frozen vegetable to every meal I eat. This hasn’t been the worst diet ever, but I need more substantial amounts of vegetables. We aren’t yet venturing out with JC still pretty sick.

JC and I were both feeling like garbage today, so the day was pretty uneventful. I was only feeling run down because of the full workout I did yesterday, after several weeks of not being able to work out between my back tweak in Jaco and a lack of space in Tokyo. We ate at Lawson for breakfast and 7-11 for lunch and dinner. I’m starting to feel bad for putting all of the cashiers in the position of having language barrier conversations, however minimal. I feel like maybe we need to do better with recognizing phrases and saying more phrases.
Travel Log: Day 91 (9/26), Osaka Japan
Another uneventful day between school and JC being sick. We decided not to do field trip Friday, although we do have tickets to the Osaka castle ready to go which are good for a month.
Picked up an amazon package at a locker over by family mart. That process has been flawless here in Japan.
FAC activities as usual.
Travel Log: Day 92 (9/27), Osaka Japan
We didn’t run today because JC is still sick and I’m now starting to feel sick. We didn’t do much of anything really today because of this. JC and I watched a couple documentaries later in the night while the kids watched a movie.
Travel Log: Day 93 (9/28), Osaka Japan
JC and I are still sick and BC might be getting sick. We decided to go walk around Dotonbori street anyway. It was really busy just one street off of Dotonbori either way, but the river walk area itself was not busy at all. We ate meat on a stick (Kobe beef) and it was really good. The place also had fried octopus balls that were not great, and was sort of gruesome when getting a big chunk of octopus arm. The kids and I watched some prison documentaries because I didn’t have the energy for a normal day.
Travel Log: Day 94 (9/29), Osaka Japan
I felt even worse today so I did nothing except help the kids with school stuff when needed, and lay around a lot. I did also go to Lawson in the morning to get breakfast and lunch. JC still sounds pretty bad as well, although she seems to be feeling better. If the kids end up getting sick, we may spend half (or more) of our time in Osaka just being sick. We watched a movie tonight to kill some time and take our minds off the sickness.
Travel Log: Day 95 (9/30), Osaka Japan
Last night I slept decent and in the morning I was feeling quite a bit better. JC had already gone to Lawson and got our breakfast stuff by the time I woke up (after 8am). We started school late but got the full day in between morning and afternoon. We went to a grocery store in the neighborhood to get dinner. JC went there earlier and got cereal for the kids which they have been missing.
By mid afternoon I was feeling run down. I guess that’s just the lingering sickness. We watched the Broncos (recorded on DAZN) and that was a wrap for our day.
