Travel Log: Day 105 (10/10), Osaka Japan

Today I couldn’t seem to wake up for basically the entire day. We did school as usual, and then I tried to nap a few times. I fell asleep a couple times briefly but didn’t really nap. I’m not sure what was going on with me. We did a normal FAC, bailing on the plans that JC and I had to do another date night. We will probably do that tomorrow.

Travel Log: Day 106 (10/11), Osaka Japan

The big event of today was JC and I going on another date night, this time in the Shinsekai area. It was our second time here in the last couple of days. It turned out to be a fun date night spot. We started with some drinks at a place that had a patio with good people watching. From there we moved on to a place to eat some okonomiyaki which is JC’s new favorite food here. We then went to dinner #2 at the same conveyor sushi place we went to with the kids. We got several things for about $7.

After the eating we just wandered all over the area, particularly in alleys and away from the center of things. We found this strip club looking place that had a nude picture on the front of the building. I walked over to the vending machine thing in front of the building, but couldn’t make sense of what it was offering exactly. It was almost like a noodle restaurant where you order via a ticket machine. All I could tell was it seemed to have times on them, which I guess are show times. It might have been fun to see a show, but we got out of there once we saw two clearly trans large dudes (chicks?) walk out of there.

I had the idea to demonstrate to the kids what a ripoff the claw games are. I was going to sink enough money that I couldn’t stand it into that machine to prove you can do it 20+ times without winning. On attempt #2 (200 yen) I won some sort of pikachu type stuffed animal (see post main image). Needless to say I failed in proving my point, and maybe I’m wrong and those games are more fair in Japan.
